LORAC Pro 2 Palette

I have been playing around with the LORAC Pro 2 palette at work, getting a feel for the colors and I just love it.

Below are a couple looks [ sorry for the poor shots of the eyes ] that I created with some of the shades.

Cannot wait to invest in this palette! Such a great mix of colors esp if you are just getting into eyeshadow, the LORAC palette or my other favorite the original Naked palette both have a great mix of neutral and darker shades.

Look 1
Both looks are very subtle and matte but I will list below exactly what I did
1. Used 'Buff' all over the lid all the way up to the brow bone
2. Used 'Nectar' which is an orangey shade to play up my fading tan as a transition shade
3. Followed that with 'Lt Brown' on the outer corners and crease as well as smoked out the lower lash line with the brown
4. Finished off with a little more 'Buff' below brow bone

Super simple day time smoke with a hint of peachy-orange. Nectar is such a gorgeous shade

And of course all over my face was iT Cosmetics { !!!! }

Look 2
A bit more of a cool toned look and still all matte
1. Used 'Buff' all over lid and up to brow bone
2. Started with 'Lt. Brown' as my transition shade
3. Followed with 'Cool Gray' on outer corner and into crease
4. Smoked out lower lash line with  some 'Lt. Brown' and a Mally eye liner

Check out this palette!!

New Summer Beauty Products

AH my apologies for being M.I.A.

I have been on holiday and out of the country!

Which leaves little time for blogging...Who am I kidding { I loved it!! }

Haha

Anyway, I am back to share with you some new beauty purchases and items I have been loving lately this summer.

Y'all know I love the voluminous carbon black
already, probably my fave mascara ever. They came out with this one in the 'Voluminous' line called Miss Manga and I have to say I love it. Makes my lashes look so long and I add the carbon black on top and they look sooooo thick and voluminous. New staple for sure.

Let me preface this by saying I never wear lipstick and have yet to find a nude lip pencil I love...
Until now!!!
This nude lip pencil-which is double sided-comes in three shades, I have Nougat.
It claims to have the one side which is the nude liner and the other side which creates the appearance of larger lips. You use the light side to over outline the lips, right outside where you did the nude liner.
Outcome: I love it! It does make your lips appear larger and the pencil is so creamy.
ALSO...the light side doubles as a concealer to cover up a red spot or pimple.
WIN f'in WIN ladies

3. Makeup Geek Contour Brush
I am always trying out brushes. My faves will always be Sigma
but Jaclyn Hill used this brush in a tutorial and I have been looking for a decent contour *only* brush. So far so good....BUT it sheds like a mofo which I don't like. Maybe after a couple washes it will be better. I'll keep ya updated

I have read about this highlighter alllll over some of my fave beauty blogs
& watched on YT.
I love it! It has been sold out at my sephora(s) for such a long time and it finally came back in stock online and I ordered [ shade Moonstone ].
I love it so far! So creamy and not super shimmery or glittery. I find a lot of highlighters are just so frosty and with flecks of glitter { ugh }

This one is gorgeous though! You won't be disappointed, and there are a couple other shades as well for every skin tone although this one looks great on all.

Hope y'all enjoyed! Looking forward to getting back to reg postings...
Any requests?

Friday Favorites

Yay starting this up again...

Kind of like my old 'insty em' posts, but I will be sharing my favorite items and such from this week

I will have beauty products, hair, Crossfit, you name it

Enjoy your weekend XX

1. St. Tropez Gradual Tan
So to keep my lovely summer tan going, I mix a little of this tanner in with my favie body lotion and apply to my whole body.

It keeps my glow going all summer and year round

2. Tervis Tumbler
Esp in the summer, I like my drinks cold and to stay cold. I recently got this cute palm tree tervis in Panama City and I've been using it non stop for all my dranks.

3. OPI Polish
I have been digging the fun Brazilian collection by OPI and esp "Kiss Me I'm Brazilian"

which is currently on my fingers :)

4. Lululemon Speed Short
You all know how much I love these shorts for WODs but right about now since its 100+ degrees out they are a staple in my workout wardrobe.

They are a must! So breathable I just love them so much. I still need those bruised berry ones!

5. iT Cosmetics CC Veil Foundation
My love for iT started quite some time back, they just came out with their ever popular CC Cream in a compact and I must say I love it.

I won't divulge too much right now, { BIG review to come } but it is so amazing and looks flawless on the skin! Ahhhh can't wait to go into more detail.

Much Love

My Favorite Products to Get Perf Brows

Hey yall! I am back today with another post that gets asked about a lot when I am out and about and at work.... All about brows!!

One of my favorite parts of anyone's face are lashes and brows. I am constantly giving brow advice and helping people find their arches so I decided it might be fun to do a post on my fave products to get perfectly groomed brows.

 They can completely change the face by opening it up and framing the eye area, which in turn frames the face. I used to never ever do my brows but now I feel naked if I leave the house and they aren't a little bit filled in ha...

So above is a picture of my actual products and favorites I have found by trial and error. As some of you may know I am a licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist so I do this on a daily basis and I have played and played with lots of brands and products. These above are my staples ^^^

In order from top to bottom....

  1. Tweezerman Mini Tweezers --> Obvi a staple in any gals beauty regime but Tweezerman steals my heart! Ever since 5th grade when my mom first tweezed my brows for me { ouch! } I have always used this brand. And of course I use them on my clients as well.
  2.  Sigma E65 Eyebrow Brush --> By far my favorite brush to fill in with. My love affair with Sigma started years back and the price of their brushes and the quality of them is unmatched.
  3. iT Cosmetics Brow Power --> Love this pencil for filling in my brows. The universally flattering shade is actually universally flattering [ I'm serious! ] If you don't believe me then go try it out for yourself! I also love this pencil.
  4. Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade --> One of her newer brow products, I am so far loving it. Hopefully more shades will come out. I feel like I am in between blonde and chocolate and once you see the shades you will know what I mean. Great for summer and more humid climates { like GA! } it will def be a summer staple because it makes your brows waterproof and smudge resistant winning.
  5. Anastasia Brow Powder Duo --> Love a good brow powder and the two colors in this one are perfect for me. Powder will create a softer look it just takes some time getting used to maneuvering it.
  6. Anastasia Clear Brow Gel --> I swear by this stuff when I am using just a pencil/or powder. It locks those brows in place and keeps on your color. They also have tinted ones which are great for just an on the go gal. I have not been using this lately since I have the pomade for summer but still a must for me.
  7. Anastasia Brow Duality --> The perfect highlighter for under and over your brows. This one has a matte side and a shimmer side so you can use it for any look. I love the matte for under the brow and above and I use the shimmer for the inner corners of my eyes.

As you can see I love Anastasia products. Mainly because she created this entire line pretty much just for brows and there is literally something for everyone. No matter if you are just starting out or are a more seasoned brow artist like myself.

Killer brows are in and honestly I will never have thin brows! Ick so 90's!!!!

Hot Tip:
To grow my brows I use coconut oil on them every night! As well as my lashes! They love the high concentration of Vit E.

I like to fill in and then tweeze any stray hairs underneath or on top. I wax my brows myself and do it probably every two weeks or so just to keep the shape I like.

Using my fave highlighter under my brows for a nice lift

And finish off with some mascara!

If you all have any questions about any of the products mentioned or have any other brow questions feel free to email me at emasonbeauty@gmail.com

Simple Summer Face

Back today with a fun and simple makeup post

As you know from a previous post, the importance of SPF and protecting your face is paramount

Now, esp in the summer I tend to wear less makeup. My face is tanner [ woop woop ] and overall my skin is clearer

I have a very simple routine that I am going to share only because people tend to ask a lot! And they assume I wear more makeup than I do { since I work in the industry }

But my motto is Less IS more..... In the skincare aspect as well as makeup

makeup is meant to enhance features rather than covering them up or trying to change them. So ladies I challenge you to pick out your best feature and just roll with it

Here's my products I generally use on a day to day basis with some tweaks depending on where I am going...
1. Dior Powder Foundation Brush // what I put my Pur on with. Of course any fluffy brush will work. I also adore this brush line
2. IT Cosmetics Ball brush // for bronzer and blush. I wash it every other day
3. IT Cosmetics lip gloss // the perfect everyday nude color
4. Smith's Rosebud lip balm // for everyday and night
5. Cargo blush // perfect coral with a hint of shimmer THIS is also an ultimate fave
6. Pur Minerals foundation  // Atlanta based mineral makeup & pretty much all the foundation I ever use
7. Too Faced bronzer // smells like chocolate. le duh why else would I use it????? Also love this one
8. RMS Living Luminizer // think--- glowy not shimmery & made from coconut oil YUM

So pretty much, apply my favie sunscreen [ who wants wrinks??? ]

Then apply my Pur, bronzer, blush, luminizer etc.

Super simple but very pretty and it takes 5 mins cause I ain't got time to spend all day doing makeup

I have better things to do....like drink green juice...

^^^^^Dropped my blush that morning......

ugh hate that sh!t

The result is tan and glowy
Always drinking my fave juice

 Wanna see a brow and eye post?????

Hope you enjoyed a peek into my summer face routine

;)

Would ya'll wanna see my healthy guac recipe?? Let me know! I put this on salads, eat it with fresh veggies, put it on fish...I mean the list is endless!! SO good!

the most amazing Grey Goose lemon martini...like...ever
Any time I go out I always try to have the bartender make me something with some kind of fresh juice and a clear alcohol like vodka etc. If I drink, I don't skimp on the alc. Its gotta be the best of the best! Which in my opinion is Grey Goose haha.

Beauty Thursday: Pur Minerals

Why hello everyone, happy Beauty Thursday and Happy Valentine's Day! I have been busy so I apologize {again} for the lack of posts but I am slowly carving out more time for posts. Today I am going to chat about a product that I actually already have, but I did just get it! It is the Pur Minerals 4-in-1 foundation! I purchased this off their website when they were doing 30% off and free shipping, what a steal!

As I said before, I get to play with makeup and apply it on clients' skin daily. So I used this product a good bit before trying it out myself. I love it! Not only is it ten times better than Bare Minerals { we are converting people daily } but they are an Atlanta based company too. Win, win! This pressed mineral is definitely a lot better than the new pressed BM version as well as loose. I say this because I have seen the difference, side by side, on peoples faces. The coverage is so much better, easier to use, actually pure, and the color blend seamlessly into the skin. What more could you ask for in a mineral foundation??? Take a look at these stats! I always set my makeup with this spray and it lasts all day!

What's your favorite mineral makeup? Have you ever tried Pur?!

Wish List: Natural Beauty

So it's no secret that I am an organic skin care and makeup junkie!! It is my passion and the field I work in. I wanted to share with you some amazing products for the makeup lover in your life! All of these items are on my wish list
{{ I promise :) }}

Sephora has some amazing value sets this year! Most of what I ask for is one of their holiday sets because you get soooo much stuff for an amazing price. A lot of times it is more fun to try out the smaller versions and then only buy full size what you want. So enjoy this beauty wish list!!!!

1. Sephora In The Glow Set  >> Totally obsessed with this set! It is full of highlighters and bronzers! Not all are natural, but that doesn't bother me at all!!!!

2. Tarte Clean Slate Deluxe Primer Trio >> At $9 this is a total stocking stuffer!!! You get to try all of Tarte's amazing primers! And let me tell you, they are fab natural primers!

3. Tarte SmolderEYES Deluxe 6-piece Set >> Number ONE on my list, this 6 piece [[ might I add full size ]] set is a must for any gal who loves her shimmery, long lasting, eye liners! So creamy and the pigmentation is perfection. It even comes with a black skinny eye liner too! My faves to smudge for any look; day or night.

4. Tarte Carried Away Collector's Set >> As you can see, I love Tarte products! I think they are affordable { for a natural brand } and they have an amazing selection. This set is probably the most 'bang for your buck' out of all of these. You get tons of eye shadows, blush, mini mascara, and mini glosses!

5. Fresh Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Trio >> I love the fresh sugar glosses and this mini trio is perfect if you want to try them out! You get three great colors that could be used day or night!

6. Clarisonic Aria Set >> I had a Mia which I loved, but the Aria came out and it has 3 speeds so this is definitely on my list! As an Esthetician, it is sooo important to take care of my skin and to teach others to do the same. This device will change your life!

Hope you enjoyed my beauty wish list!!!

Vapour Organic Foundation Review & My Everyday Face

Woo finally here! If you watched my videos on YouTube, you know that I like to use makeup products for at least a month(skin care for longer!) before giving a thorough review and expressing my true opinions on it. So with that, I am going to show you some pictures at the end of me before and after applying the foundation, and then some with a full face. And these are un-retouched pictures btw!! I usually don't retouch my pics but I thought I should disclose that since these are pre/post makeup pics!

As far as changing your foundation for the colder months, I don't really conform to that 'myth' and here's why. Most people switch up to heavier foundations for fall/winter etc. and I don't really understand why! When I think of heavier, I tend to think thicker, cakier formulas right?? To be honest, our skin is drier in the colder months and when we cake on heavy foundations, it tends to cling to the dry patches. You should be using lighter and more moisturizing foundations! The first 2 ingredients in this product are moisturizing and that's what you need to look for.

{ eek! No makeup! haha }

{ With the foundation only done }

The Review:

As you can see, it covers most imperfections with minimal product. I think this was 2 very light layers. I am shade 115. TIP: Never put thick layers of product on your face! Always do thin layers and build if needed.
I would classify this as a light to medium coverage foundation. The website says it uses 'light reflective technology to diminish fine lines, pores, and wrinkles'. I truly do think it has a soft focus effect on the skin. And they have a great color range for the lighter skin tones like mine, and my shade blends seamlessly into my skin. The finish is quite satin (in between matte and luminous) and I do have combo/oily skin so the finish is important to me. I find that if I use a setting powder in my T-zone (my favorite!) that it stays all day and keeps me from looking too oily!

The Thing About Natural Foundations.....
They don't contain silicones so if you were to purchase this, you need to know that the formula will feel a little bit different on your skin. Not a bad different at all, but just different! I have found it is best to use your fingers to apply. It helps the product to melt into your skin!
Another great thing about this beauty brand is that they offer samples so you can try anything they offer! I have found that most green brands and websites like Spirit Beauty Lounge also offer the sample service.

From the Vapour Website:
"Vapour raises the bar for revolutionary performance and purity with Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation. Effortlessly achieve the look of radiant, healthy skin and a more even complexion. The Soft Focus line is designed to balance all skin types, including combination and oily skin. Soft Focus leaves a smooth base for color makeup application while achieving a natural soft satin finish."
"Made with 70% Certified Organic ingredients and 30% natural mineral pigments & vitamins. Nourishes with Organic Pumpkin and Papaya complex and brightens skin with Organic Camellia.  Infused with Vapour’s face specific infusion of anti-inflammatory Frankincense, antioxidant Tulsi and moisturizing and calming Lotus flowers."

Foundation // Blush // Mascara // Luminizer }

{ Blush in Spark & RMS Luminizer }

Full Face

I would say this is my everyday face. I am obsessed with makeup but I really don't wear that much haha. Some people think that just because I love trying out new products and things that I would wear a lot but this is my exact day to day face. It is very simple, and very 'me'. I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any requests please leave me a comment!

Makeup Musts: My Everyday Look

Day to day, I pretty much wear the same staple makeup items. I am pretty low key when it comes to my makeup look. My philosophy is "quality over quantity". When I watch these girls on YouTube do makeup collection videos, I can't believe how much crap they have (and never use). It was almost appalling! I like to have really good, staple pieces in my collection. Now granted, this is only a few of my favorite everyday items (I don't wear all of them at once!). So here goes the peek into my makeup bag...

{ Kate Spade Makeup Bag- similar }

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer- the.best.highlighter.ever.
{ Physicians Formula Bamboo Wear Bronzer- a subtle, natural glow }
Tarte Maracuja Blush and Glow- 2 in one! The blush is beautiful as well as the highlight }
Vapour Mezmerize Shimmer Eye Color in Sugar- the perfect everyday shade for your lid }
Tarte SmolderEyes Liner in brown- super easy to smudge to create a day time smoke out }

Youngblood Mineral Radiance Creme Powder Foundation- only on the spots I need it on
Jane Iredale Amazing Base- love this on light days & it's SPF 20 }

{ Tarte Lip Tint in Perky- perfect baby pink }
Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate- another perfect, everyday coral }
{ The All Natural Face vegan lip gloss Peppermint Stick- glossy pink lips! }

Like I said before, these are just some of my favorites I regularly reach for. I am very minimalistic when it comes to cosmetics, but I love trying new ones. Especially if they are natural or organic! More beauty to come :)
