Why I Don't Use A "Moisturizer" Anymore...

The title may be a bit misleading because I do moisturize still { DUH! }

But not with a traditional cream or lotion product...

I have been on a serum kick for about 8 months give or take now, and I will never go back!!!

I told you a couple posts ago that I have been using an organic rosehip oil on my post-surgery scars as well as my face.

Apparently Dr. Oz called it "Nature's Retin-A" Ugh I will never ever put that crap on my face!!

So in my skin needling post I briefly mentioned how luminous and youthful and even toned my skin has been looking since incorporating this oil into my routine. And let me tell you, I will never ever quit using it.

Like my skin is so amazing I never wear makeup anymore...like evs

So here's a bit more info on the benefits of rosehip oil :)

 What is Rosehip Oil good for? Can I use it?
YES! Of course first make sure your not allergic to this oil, but everyone of any age can use it.
It's great for the following skin concerns...
  • dry skin
  • eczema
  • dermatitis
  • psoriasis
  • stretch marks
  • wrinkles
  • sun damage
  • acne scars
  • and much more

What does it smell like? Roses?
Def does not smell like roses FYI

Some clients of mine literally won't buy an amazing product just bc of the smell like WTH!

I am totally not like that at all, smell is not a factor in my thought process. If it works give it to me!

It does not have a bad scent but it sure as heck ain't roses!

When Will I Start to See Results?
As I cannot guarantee your specific results without knowing your specific skin, I can tell you that I started to see immediate results in a couple weeks and continue to make progress with this oil and my skin needling

I love love love this oil and will never go back!

Does It HAVE To Be Organic?
ummmm.....yes

And I say this because I take what I put into my body and what I put on my skin very seriously.

So yes it must, must be organic!

So again, this facial oil has completely changed the way I look at my skin and what I put onto it. Only the freshest and purest ingredients! I promise you will see results if you are consistent!!!

Do not use this for two days and say "Oh I haven't seen miracles so I am going to quit using it...."

I can't wait to hear your feedback and if you have any other organic oils you think I should try email me at emasonbeauty@gmail or leave a comment below!

Lulu Lust List

Ever since starting Crossfit, and actually even before that, I have been obsessed with Lululemon. If you have never tried on or worn their workout clothes I suggest you try them!!! Their fabrics are soft, form fitting, perfect for an athletes body. Plus they are super cute and oh so cozy.

I am going to start doing Lululemon lust lists every couple weeks to showcase their new arrivals and new products. I mean, am I the only one who wants to look cute while sweating up a storm??

Not only is their clothing adorable, but also very functional in workouts. I have found most of their products to be made to withstand a lot and last a very long time. The quality is definitely there. And when I workout, I need to know my shorts/pants wont ride up or my shirt to fall down.

Post Practice Cardi

I would literally wear this anywhere!! And how adorable is this color? Perfect for spring

RUN:Swiftly Tech LS*Stripe

I have this in gray and I LOVE it. The stripe version is so cute I definitely want to get my hands on it!

Run:Speed Short

These are my new obsession. I recently got them in black and they are easily the most comfortable shorts ever. Like ever, ever. They are perfect for WOD's and everything in between. I can easily squat and run in them. And I am a hard one to please...

I look forward to more Lulu posts :)

Quick & Easy HEALTHY Dinner 1

Who doesn't love an easy, fast dinner????

And no, I am not talking about FAsT food!!!!!

Today, I am going to show you a super easy and quick dinner I made that was satisfying and healthy in under ten minutes.

I hate long, drawn out recipes that take all day to make. Plus I am starving after my WOD and will literally grab at anything I see. Tsk Tsk that's a bad habit so I've been playing around with fast meals.

This IS a meatless meal but you can always add a lean grilled or steamed chicken or meat to the plate as well I just didn't have any on hand.

I used coconut oil to satay the onions until very soft.
I added the kale and some pepper to taste. After the kale softened I squeezed fresh lemon juice on it and continued to cook for 2-3 more minutes.

Along with the kale I baked a sweet potato! YUM!!!

I could eat one of those with everything and plus they are so good for you.
Benefits include:
1. High in vitamin B6
2. Good source of vitamin C and D
3. They contain iron and magnesium which are good for the immune system, heart, muscle, and nerve function
4. High in beta-carotene which helps fight against cancer
5. You can cook them several ways so you don't get bored

Naturally, I don't add butter but I did find a yummy alternative at Kroger and it is this...

It's obviously not the healthiest thing in the WORLD, but its a better alternative. It doesn't taste like coconut either it is very light. Also, I do not add any of that nasty sweet stuff people tend to add to sweet potatoes. I just use plain ole' pepper and pink Himalayan salt.

Sweet potatoes are already naturally sweet so why add brown sugar???

Let me know if any of you try this!!!! More on kale in another post! Can you say super food???

5k Update & Supplements

Y'all might laugh, but one of my friends got the date wrong on that 5k I am supposed to do this Saturday!! It was actually this past Saturday haha, but there are going to be more later this month in Atlanta so it looks like I will have more time than I thought to prepare [[ I'm not complaining!!! ]]
So theres the story on that....
Now some talk about supplements. I don't think they are for everyone but if you've tried supplements for boosting your workouts I think you will appreciate this. So I had read about this supplement called Thermo-Success and it is supposed to "Promote body fat reduction, appetite control support, amplified metab., energy boost, and mood boost".
How it works...
Unfortunately, there will never be a magic pill that allows you to never work out and eat junk food all day long while still staying thin. But there are things you can take, combined with healthy eating and daily exercise, that will aid your body in its effort to rid itself of fat.  Thermo-Success is a powerful thermogenic diet pill that is designed for both people who are looking to loose a lot of weight, and for those who are simply looking to get cut.  What is a thermogenic? A thermogenic is a dietary supplement, designed for weight-loss and cutting fat, that works by raising your bodies metabolic rate so that you burn more calories from fat.

Why Thermo-Success is better...
Thermo-Success, like all products by Supplemental Success, is made with premium ingredients – combined to be an all encompassing weight loss supplement.  Thermo-Success is made with herbal supplements, which not only help rid your body of fat, but also help promote a healthy natural body in almost every area of concern. Thermo-Success does not just focus on one element of weight loss, but targets ALL areas of weight loss.

Overall, I have found it to complement my 5k training by giving a great energy boost in the a.m. and also for when I do my yoga/toning exercises. I am very picky about supplements and what I put into my body and I truly love this supplement! Guess What?!?! Lucky for you all I have a 15% coupon code for all my readers from the wonderful people at Supplemental Success!! Use the code "naturallyem" for 15% off your Thermo-Success purchase! I know you all will love this supplement at much as me. They also have 2 other ones called Cerebral Success (for a brain booster) and Testosterone Success. I hope you all try it out and let me know how it works for you pre-workout!

I will have some natural body product reviews this week so get excited haha!
Now back to the grind!

The Vitamix and My Daily Smoothies!

One of my passions in life is living a healthy lifestyle. I finally got back into yoga and I can't believe I ever stopped! Eating healthy is also something I do. Not to say I never eat sweets (cakes, frozen yogurt, ice cream to name a few), but I eat them in moderation which is the key to everything! I plan on going back to finish my Bachelor's degree in Holistic Nutrition as well.
 Recently my mom received a Vitamix from a family member. Now if you don't know what that is, its like the ultimate blender, juicer, ice cream maker, food processor, etc. Pretty much it does everything! I used to make my veggie and fruit smoothies in a blender, but the Vitamix blends everything to perfection! The greens aren't grassy at all and you can even put in the seeds! The Vitamix is a huge investment, but one I know I will make when I leave home. I usually eat a smoothie for breakfast and dinner. I eat a regular meal for lunch. You get all of your daily minerals and nutrients from these fresh fruits and vegetables. Its like a continual detox for your body. A book I read a year or so back hooked me on these "green" smoothies, its called The Beauty Detox Solution. The woman who wrote it is a celebrity Nutritionist, her name is Kimberly Snyder and she has an amazing blog here. Its all about the way you eat, and you eat for your beauty. What you put in your body radiates and shows on your skin! I know this because I am about to become a licensed Esthetician. You get out what you put in your body. There are countless recipes you can find online to eat for whatever condition you may have whether it be acne or joint problems. Your skin is your largest organ and usually if you have a skin problem, the root of it can be found on the inside or in your diet.

A question you may have is, "Since the smoothies are green, do they taste like grass??" NO!! They don't they taste amazing and you don't always have to put greens in them! The fruit you put in cuts out all of that green taste and it is just so refreshing! Down below, I show you a typical breakfast and dinner smoothie that I have daily. The best part about these smoothies is you can use what you have in them. I never follow a recipe, I just throw stuff in! It always ends up tasting amazing!

{ our vitamix here }

{ My breakfast smoothie: frozen strawberries, 1 banana, a dash of cinnamon, some almond milk, and cooked quinoa }

{ Blended strawberry perfection! }

{ Dinner smoothie: cup of pineapple (cubed), 5 or 6 carrots, kale/spinach mixture, 1 peach, 1 apple, 1/2 lemon, 3 large watermelon slices, and 2 tbsp. of ground flax (not shown) }

{ YUM! Look at all those colors! }

{ And there you have it, dinner! }

 This is the best way to get your daily dose of fruits and veggies, it's so easy to drink! Hope you enjoyed a snippet into my daily nutrition routine. If you all want to see more health/fitness posts let me know!
